Wolters Kluwer, the global provider of software and services for the finance, accounting, legal, medical and compliance industries announced on May 6 that their systems were taken offline in response to a cyber threat.

As of May 13, the Wolters Kluwer public release states, “We reiterate that as of today we have not seen any evidence that customer data or systems were compromised or that there was a breach of confidentiality of customer data.”

Considering this incident, we recommend vigilance with any email messages purporting to come from Wolters Kluwer or about Wolters Kluwer. Cyber criminals are quick to capitalize on incidents such as this.

In addition, it is recommended that people who have login accounts with Wolters Kluwer should go directly to the Wolters Kluwer portal site and change their password.

Please do not hesitate to contact us at Integrity if you have questions about this recent incident, are suspicious of an email message, or if we can assist with vendor management.
